Is it a bird, is it a plane, is it a great big freakin' megastar? Yes, it's SuperGirly (aka Lulu McClatchy) with invincible singing powers to extract every last ounce of laughter from the audience. Supergirly sings her way through a fantastical musical satire to delight and impress.
Nobody does it better, makes you feel is good, nobody does it half as good as me, baby I'm the best.
SuperGirly is playing at Chapel on Chapel in the Loft. This has an intimate theatre with comfy couches, large coffee tables and other seating, a bar and friendly staff. When we arrived, there were smiles all round and excited chatter. I'd say that many loyal fans were present as there were cheers before the curtain opened. SuperGirly emerged from the rear, strutting her stuff in very high silver wedges, adorned with blue angel wings and a sparkling silver headpiece.
In this unique theatre show, Supergirly has eleven costume changes! Supergirly is dressed to impress with a few sexy surprises. My favorite was the hot pink corset and the stuffed dog bag.
Supergirly's first song caused loud cheers when she belted out 'Don't You Wish Your Girlfriend Had a Pot Like Me'. Lulu McClatchy is an awesome Australian actress and hilarious comedian. She is also brash, outspoken, outrageous and raunchy ... with lots of bling. Her talents include her remarkably strong, adaptable and flexible voice, which is capable of imitating many of the greats.
Supergirly may be delusional (by her own admission) but her interpretation of pop icons is as cutting, as it is witty. No popular star can escape the ruthless, lashing tongue of Supergirly. If her sing off were in a boxing ring, her opponents would come off bruised and battered.
Supergirly uses a pop idol's own hit song against themselves. Creating hilarious and outrageous, with lyrics stating the unspoken bleeding obvious. Her observations of Britney Spears,
revealed through interpreting her songs are just so funny. I don't think I'd like to be the Pet Shop Boys… but she is sooooo right!
One of her songs exposed Milly Cyrus as a tweaking publicity hog. Supergirly cleverly blurs the boundaries between Madonna and Lady Gaga. Russell Crowe is outed for being a New Zealander who shouldn't call Australia home. Lulu's version of 'I Still Call Australia Home' leaves no doubt that she is a true blue Aussie, but not born in Frankston!
Many pop songs get the Supergirly treatment. Never again will I be able to listen to 'What Makes You Beautiful' by One Direction
and not sing along Supergirly's wicked interpretation.
I am still singing 'Moves Like Jagger' by Maroon 5
and remember clearly, the awkward and hilarious dance moves by her co-star Brooks.
Lyall Brooks, her co-star, (Bradley Cooper look-alike) plays this character in the show. Apart from success at the Edinburgh Festival they have been booked to perform at many private, celebrity exclusive parties, including Elton John, Madonna, Queen, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones.
Lyall Brooks and Lulu McClatchy became the celebrity party act because they could make fun out of whoever was there. Clearly, there is not enough room for too many superstar divas!
The finale is sung in a glamorous hot pink nighty with a long brunch coat, featuring a long train and the obligatory fur trims. I doubt that this was made with a hot glue gun and a few household items.
Supergirly is a star in her own universe and she has many more new fans orbiting around. Here are some of the audience comments:

It's a big call, but I think this is the funniest live show I have ever seen. Don't live with regret, there's no question that this is a MUST SEE comedy. Even if you are not as entranced by sequins, feathers and bling as me, you have to go… book now!
