There's nothing to make you feel cool and debonair quite like having your own secret little drink spot that is both exclusive and hip beyond compare.
The latest addition to Brisbane's laneway scene, Super Whatnot, is exactly that place. Housed in the rear storeroom of an abandoned beauty college, full of corners and leather chairs illuminated by candlelight, and sporting an entrance so well-hidden it's almost invisible to the unsuspecting passerby, this bar oozes speakeasy charm and endless possibilities.
Stocking a rotating rage of craft beers and boutique wines, as well as a variety of seasonal foods ranging from freshly shucked oysters to pork and chorizo tacos, Super Whatnot has all of the makings of a truly great night. For those looking for something on the stronger side, Super Whatnot's bartenders are always up for making an excellent cocktail, both on the menu and by request. This writer particularly recommends the Rosmery's Knees - a mixture of Beefeater gin, rosemary, Manuka honey and lemon.
