WAttention Singapore and Esplanade-Theatres on the Bay present
Super Japan Matsuri, the first ever Super Japan Matsuri. The three-day festival is part of Esplanade's new cultural festival,
Super Japan – Japanese Festival of Arts , showcasing the arts and culture of Japan, and featuring the collaborations between the two countries' artists.
Through this festival they would like to introduce a genuine
matsuri to Singapore residents, and create a nostalgic atmosphere for the Japanese community here.

Chindonya Traditional Japanese Street Performances by The Adachi Company on 20 & 21 May.
Chindoya is originally a street campaign in Edo period. The performers in outlandish costumes will play
Chindon, a three-in-one instrument, together with a trumpet, an accordion, and a drum.
Windstars Ensemble, together with local winners of Japanese Karaoke ,will deliver
Enka, a popular form of music from Meiji Era, on 22 May.
Satisfy your taste buds with delicious and authentic food like
takoyaki,
baby Castella,
yakisoba (pan-fried noodles) and
okonomiyaki (grilled Japanese pancake) prepared by Japanese chefs from Japan and Singapore. Get a Japanese draft beer, shochu highball or sake cocktails too!
Try your hands on traditional festival games such as old-time Japanese favourites such as
shateki (shooting game),
senbonbiki (lucky-pick strings),
wanage (ring toss),
yo-yo tsuri (yo-yo balloon) and
katanuki (die-cut candy) specially flown in from Japan. Game coupons will be on sale for $2 each.
Each night there is a different theme: Ladies and Students (Friday), Cosplayers (Saturday), and Families (Sunday). The first 100 visitor matching the nightly theme will get a free game.
