Oxfam is a community based worldwide development and aid organisation committed to working with communities to fight poverty. With one person in three in the world living in poverty, Oxfam works with those in need to develop long-term solutions that address the root causes of poverty. Operating in 80 countries around the world, the strength of the organisation comes from staff, volunteers, the Board and supporters. They believe that poverty is unjustifiable and preventable and that no-one should live in poverty.

The Oxfam Second Hand Bookshop has an amazing array of books, CDs and DVDs. On my last visit, I spent hours browsing through a variety of books from childrens to adults and everything in between, including those from your childhood that you never thought you would see again. I went home with far more than I intended! The bookshop is 100% volunteer-run and sells 100% donated stock to raise money for Oxfam Australia projects.
