The recent Melbourne Supanova Pop Culture Expo event was a great success, and now it is Sydney's turn to play host to the popular film, television, comic book, anime, manga and video game convention. This two-day event is to be held on Saturday June 18 and Sunday June 19, 2011 at The Dome, Olympic Park.

Special guests attending the Sydney event include;

English actor Cary Elwes, who has appeared in The Princess Bride, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Hot Shots!, Glory, Liar Liar, Saw and Kiss the Girls.

American actor and musician James Marsters, who is best known as Spike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Marsters has also appeared in Smallville, Torchwood and Caprica.

American actor Luke Perry, who portrayed Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210, and the title character in Jeremiah.

Brazilian actress Morena Baccarin, who is currently portraying Anna in V. Baccarin previously appeared in Firefly.

American actor Sean Maher, who is best known as Dr. Simon Tam in Firefly and Serenity.

Three cast members of the classic 1960s American sitcom, I Dream of Jeannie, are also participating in several convention events; Barbara Eden, Larry Hagman and Bill Daily.

There are many more special guests from film, television, fantasy literature, comic books, anime, manga and video games; you can see the full line-up for Sydney here. (It is worth checking the guest line-up a little closer to the event date, as sometimes special guests are unable to attend - if this occurs there will be replacement guests).

As with previous Supanova Pop Culture Expo events, there will be various opportunities to obtain autographs of the special guests, as well as participate in photo opportunities for an extra fee. If you wish to obtain an autograph or photograph, you will have to be patient and spend most of your time at the event in a queue. It is best to check the schedule so you don't miss out on all the other events such as exclusive screenings, master classes, anime dubbing sessions, Laser Tag, card games, karaoke, table top games, video games, wrestling, Fragfest and much more, including the always popular Cosplay event and other competitive events, such as Kamehameha Blast-Off!

Dressing up is always welcomed at Supanova events - even if you are not entering Cosplay - it is part of the fun.

If you intend to participate in Cosplay it is worth reading through the rules and regulations here.

Tickets will go on sale on May 3rd, 2011 at Ticketek - you can purchase your ticket online, over the phone (132 849) or in person at Ticketek agencies.

There are two types of tickets available to purchase:

There is the SUPA Fan Pass, which entitles the holder to attend the event on Saturday June the 18th and Sunday June the 19th, and also a special preview night on Friday June the 17th, where you can purchase tokens for autograph and photo opportunities in advance - (this would be less time queuing up during the actual event over the weekend).

The other type of ticket is a Day Pass for either Saturday June the 18th or Sunday June the 19th. Children under the age of 12 may attend the convention for free, if they are accompanied by an adult.

A Day Pass is available for Friday the 17th of June - but please note this is a preview event and there will be few special guests attending the preview event, it is simply an opportunity to purchase tokens in advance - to attend the event on either Saturday June the 18th or Sunday June the 19th, you would have to purchase another Day Pass.

Tickets are available at the door also, however please note the price may be slightly dearer at the door. It is best to purchase your ticket in advance from Ticketek.

Full details of the ticket prices will be revealed on the Supanova website in May. Check the website closer to the event date for the schedule of events.
