Great value for money and top family fun.

Mark this in your diary immediately even if you honestly think there is no geek in you at all. You will find it just as you leave your car in the showgrounds car park. Everyone there is busy putting on the final touches to their amazing costumes. I attended mostly at the insistence of my son and also to produce this review for my readers, and came away having one of the most fun days of my year.

There are many delightful TV 'blasts from the past'.

The costumes provided a platform for everyone to interact rather than just file past exhibitors. It was a truly interactive experience from start to finish. When we came into the hall, I realised it was a pop culture sales dream with so many items for sale and I decided to keep a firm grip on my purse. I found, much to my son's delight, that the prices were very reasonable with many items on sale. We both had a laugh when I happily found a water proof army jacket for my bird watching expeditions.

The best part of Supanova for me was the inclusion of so many TV greats from the past. It provided a few conversations with my son about what we did for entertainment as children before game consoles.

Go in costume and enter the Madman National Cosplay Championship. Preliminary rounds taking place in the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide are now open for entry.
