Supanova Comic Con and Gaming Expo is on Saturday June 24 and Sunday June 25 in Perth.

If you are an aspiring writer or a fan of novels such as:
The Maze Runner series by James Dashner
The Wheel of Time series by Brandon Sanderson
The Alex Cain series by Alan Baxter
Then head to Supernova Perth this weekend to meet the authors who wrote them.

You can get their autograph, have a photo taken and, unlike the movie celebrities, you don't need to buy a token.

Australian science fiction author Cat Sparks, whose recent novel Lotus Blue has received much praise, will also be at Supanova Comic Con & Gaming.

On Saturday from 1:30pm-2:30pm Brandon Sanderson will be hosting a solo Q&A session. Brandon is co-host of popular writers podcast Writing Excuses which offers quick tips to improve your writing. He was given the huge responsibility of finishing Robert Jordan's series Wheel of Time after he passed away and has written many successful novels of his own including the Stormlight Archive series and the Mistborn series.

James Dashner (Maze Runner) will be co-hosting a session on Saturday from 3:30-4:30pm about Pushing the Boundaries of Young Adult (YA) fiction. The talk will also feature historical fantasy author Juliet Marillier and YA author Lynette Noni, who's fantasy novels The Medoran Chronicles have been likened to a cross-between Harry Potter, X-Men and Narnia.

Brandon Sanderson, Alan Baxter and Cat Sparks will be running a discussion and Q&A session at 12:00pm-1:00pm on Sunday about Fantastic Beasts and How to Write Them. This will focus on helping you create realistic and captivating non-human characters in your writing.

From 3pm-4pm on Sunday, James Dashner will be hosting a solo talk with A spotlight on the Maze Runner series. This will be your opportunity to ask all your questions like the process of writing the Maze Runner, the inspiration behind it and how he devised the worlds within the Maze Runner.

To plan your day, download the Supanova Perth program here.

Tickets for Supanova can be purchased online here. Prices range from $32 for an adult for a day pass to $800 for a Weekend VIP Superstar pass, which includes queue jumping privledges, photograph and autograph tokens, and reserved seating in panels and workshops.

Authors will appear at the QBD Bookstore stand (#301) where you can purchase a copy of their novel and then have it signed. If you ask nicely, Supanova assistants may also take a photo of you with your favourite author.

It's a rare opportunity to be able to meet a multitude of esteemed authors, all in one location.

Comic Con's are a great place to get to meet famous authors and learn their secrets to writing a successful novel or to hear the backstory behind well known books.
