Start of our walk at Cornmeal Creek
Nestled between Buderim and the spectacular Coral Sea, visitors will find a relatively new residential area called Sunshine Cove, offering the perfect address with the perfect location, all focused on lifestyle. This gateway to Maroochydore, boasts the scenic Maroochy River and the Sunshine Coast's refurbished shopping mecca, Sunshine Plaza, all on its doorstep.
Recently my adventurous 'other' and I decided some local exploring would be on the cards for our early Friday morning walk and imagine our delight when we discovered the 4.3km easy Sunshine Cove Walk and Cycle Circuit in Maroochydore. The landscape architects have managed to achieve perfect harmony between human friendly and nature, meandering the paved pathways around the edges of the crystal clear waterways within the Sunshine Cove estate.

Perfect harmony with nature
Walkers and cyclists will discover magical little spots en route, that provide tranquillity and stunning views of Cornmeal Creek. Wide boardwalks and paved walkways make it easy to navigate your way around one of Maroochydore's newer residential suburbs, whilst appreciating the enviable waterfront lifestyle enjoyed by many, on and off the water.

Appreciating the waterfront lifestyle ...
Cornmeal Creek is at its widest in this section of Maroochydore and with its pristine clear water offers cyclists and walkers the opportunity to spy a fish or two, iridescent fins sparkling in the sunlight.

Sunshine Cove Park, one of the many children's parks in this area
Look out for the fabulous children's parks along the way, some of which have fully equipped BBQ facilities as well as undercover picnic areas, overlooking the scenic waterways. Modern toilet facilities are also provided for day visitors.

Cyclists love the easy level circuit
The Sunshine Cove Circuit can be accessed from multiple locations, dependant on your preferred parking spot. Turn into the Sunshine Cove residential area off Maroochy Boulevard from either Sunrise Drive or Sunshine Cove Way - both locations have their own street parking.

No swimming or diving, but our furry pals, on a leash, are welcome ...
The Sunshine Cove Circuit is suitable for all age groups and abilities, whether you're a cyclist or a walker. It also ticks the boxes for being wheelchair and stroller accessible as well as doggy, on a leash, friendly too.
This whole area is such a delight to visit, that one feels a reluctance to leave … so what else is on offer to day visitors.
