'Climb the highest mountain and swim the deepest sea' or however that song goes, I've always loved it - though I suspect it's more of a love ballad than a lifestyle activity song. However, if you're a bit of an adrenaline junkie and love to feel the wind in your hair as you climb ever higher or prefer to explore the deepest, darkest realms of Mother Nature, whilst caving, then the Sunshine Coast Recreation Centre should absolutely be on your 'to-do' list.
The Sunshine Coast Recreation Centre is open to the public and offers more than ten different climbs of varying degrees of difficulty, including crack only climbs and overhangs for more experienced climbers. The Recreation Centre uses an automatic belay system which allows climbers to climb solo. Feel the thrill of the rock wall beneath your hands and get the adrenaline pumping as you scale new heights.

Sunshine Coast Recreation Centre has one hundred and fifty metres of artificial caving, allowing cavers to explore and navigate at the very first of its kind caving system in Australia. Cavers are equipped with a head torch (head torches take some getting used to in the dark - personal experience talking here) and are then ready to navigate through the complex maze of passages.

These phenomenal caves have been created to replicate natural caves, giving wannabe cavers an opportunity to experience the unique thrill and challenge of 'spelunking' - 'the exploration of caves especially as a hobby.'
Entry and participation is on a first come, first served basis. The Sunshine Coast Recreation Centre advises participants to arrive at least fifteen minutes before the start of a session to ensure a spot.
