Tooway Creek near Buccleugh Street

Tooway Creek near Moffat Beach has quite an amazing walk with a good variety in that there is shade, hiking, a bikeway, pets, a creek, boardwalk and surf all in a three to four-minute stroll and further on to Bulcock Beach in the south, or along the Tooway Creek or to take the road over the creek to the north. It's on the Sunshine Coast Pathway - in two of its nine sections, where section seven meets section eight if heading south (consider section one at Coolum in that description) at Moffat Beach. Another name is the O'Donnell Track, which is written about online from the south as a walk with views .

But the fact so much can be walked as well as observed in such a short time makes Moffat Beach quite impressive. I found out about this 2012 article by WeekendNotes - which shows photos near the Tooway Creek at the ocean, which on that note was a very popular place when I attended on April 11, 2024. I think it is because of Queensland autumn school holidays that it is particularly popular this week. Below are the walk highlights and some signs on the walk.

I realised my Caloundra by train article shows that as you can travel to Caloundra by train, buses can drop you near Seaview Terrace, despite travel from Brisbane. The medical centre (photographed below) shows you are at Buccleugh Street on the walk and nearing Moffat Beach and Seaview Terrace. At Buccleugh Street at Bryce Street is the stop for the 607 bus to Caloundra Interchange. Eventually, as indicated in the linked article, one can travel from Caloundra Interchange to Brisbane in a few smaller journeys.

Finally, a photo of Moffat Beach and its headland shows the contrasting waves or white water near the headland to the south, compared to the creek end to the north.
