Brush off the cobwebs and get your running gear out - the Sunshine Coast's largest community running festival is coming up from 19 - 21 August. Can you believe this year is the fifth consecutive celebration for this great event, which has proven itself to be one of Australia's favourites by far.
Run as an individual, a school team, a community group, a workplace crew or a running group. Join more than 6000 participants, young and old and of varying degrees of ability, hailing from Queensland, Interstate and even overseas in one of the five distances being offered:
Two kilometres; Five kilometres; Ten kilometres; Twenty-one point one kilometres (half marathon) Forty-Two point two kilometres (full marathon)
Start/Finish Line: Alexandra Headlands Surf Club Each entrant receives a 2016 limited edition visor
Each finisher receives a commemorative 2016 medal and finishers towel
Prize money is equal for male and female (overall finish position)

All profits from this dynamic Festival are donated to two major charities, namely, Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Westpac Foundation. The goal this year is to raise $250,000 which will bring the total amount of money's raised to $1million since the Festival first commenced in 2012.
The Sunshine Coast in Queensland has the perfect winter conditions for running with a temperate climate, low humidity in winter and heaps of sunshine - all conducive to achieving a new personal goal or setting a new personal best. If you haven't started training yet, it's never too late!

For all the non-athletes who don't want to miss out on the action, 7SCM Marathon Expo will be open to the public next to the Alex Surf Club at Alexandra Headland Beach. Free Family Fun for the whole family too with a Friday night movie, music, face painting and pony rides being on offer.
