The main event of the day is the marathon, but that doesn't take anything away from the half marathon, 10km, 5km or 2km events. Even if you took part in 2012, prepare to be surprised this year, because a couple of changes are in place.
The multi-loop course will remain based on feedback from runners in the inaugural event however organisers will replace the zig zag section through Maroochydore to one that will head out to Picnic Point. The 10km loop will be retained for athletes to run their chosen distance, to give athletes and spectators the most scenic course and best possible viewing spots. Being on the Sunshine Coast, you will want to make the most of your time here - especially if you're a visitor.
Running along the Sunshine Coast's shoreline is like a walk through the park.
There's no such thing as preparing too early. Have a look around town and get fit. Mark Gunther at International Fitness Studio says "the harder you train, the easier the event." Lace up your runners and get jogging.
