School's out, Christmas and New Year festivities are behind us and now we're looking for some good, wholesome, creative fun to keep the kids entertained during the rest of the school holidays.

Sunshine Coast Libraries have an exciting FREE range of activities and workshops to keep young hands and minds very busy. Children will have the opportunity to ferret into the world of virtual reality; or try their hand at becoming a movie director at one of the stop-go animation sessions; or perhaps a Frankentoy workshop would be more up their alley, giving them the opportunity to create their very own hair-raising creatures at a Frankentoy workshop.

Whatever your childrens' preferences, Sunshine Coast Libraries have heaps of holiday activities to choose from. All activities and workshops are FREE and in some instances registration is required to ensure a spot is booked. Here's a guide, in date order, as to what is happening and when, plus links to enable FREE registration.

Children can challenge themselves to find all the hidden characters and to check them off as they find them in the library.

A Story Walk is an innovative way to experience a children's picture book. The pages of a picture book are enlarged and spread along an outdoor or large indoor space. Children and their families move through the space, from one page to another, to read the book. The Story Walk features 'Koalas eat gum leaves' by Sunshine Coast writer/illustrator duo, Laura and Philip Bunting.

The Sunshine Coast Libraries' school holiday guide is for the week of Monday 7 January 2019 to Friday 11 January 2019 and is filled with guaranteed fun, games and creativity. All activities and workshops are FREE, but where the writer has mentioned that 'registration is essential', parents should ensure that online booking is done for children to secure their spot.

Please allow plenty of time for travel and parking as Sunshine Coast Libraries may transfer a booking to another attendee or deny entry to latecomers.
