Program Launch in the Park
The inaugural Sunshine Coast International Readers and Writers Festival's full program will be launched with a beach party on Wednesday, July 6 at 10am right on main beach Coolum. The party features books on the beach, legendary Sunshine Coast singer-songwriters Barry Charles, Billy Ryan and Jay Bishoff and plenty of special guests and colourful characters including the Festival's five University of the Sunshine Coast Bursary winners who will not only present at the Festival from September 9 to 11, but also at the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival in October. The Ubud festival, the biggest in Asia, is SCIRWF's official mentor.

Wednesday 6th at 10am bring the kids and join in the fun and photos at Tickle Park, Coolum and on the main beach.
The Sunshine Coast International Readers and Writers Festival Inc will bring together regional, Australian and international writers (including poets, performers, photographers, journalists and musicians) on a world stage – creating a space for conversation and connection across cultural and geographic divides. Check out the artists on their website it really is an impressive line up of talent.
The SCIRW Festival, September 9-11, will highlight both Aboriginal cultural and environmental issues. It will include panel discussions, readings, performances and so much more. Already, the 'Start with a Laugh" breakfasts each day of the Festival have proved a hit and look like being immediate sell-outs.
