Every now and then an event comes along that sounds truly wild and in this case, the decadent Sunshine Coast Dessert Festival makes every sweet tooth's dream come true. Dessert connoisseur or not, this one-day festival is worth the trip halfway up the sunny coast. Come and check out what the latest dessert trends are and what's shortly coming, before any MKR contestant pumps it out on telly.

Running for one day only, Saturday February 15th , at Aussie World, The Sunshine Coast Dessert Festival sets out to celebrate everything sweet, from dessert wine tasting, brownies, waffles, chimney cakes, ice-cream, doughnuts, dessert dumplings, crepes, lollies, to dessert pizzas just to name a few.

Along with the austere dessert taste testing for those die-hard dessert connoisseurs, there will be the Sunshine Coast Collectives Makers Market with thirty artist stalls, live music, demonstrations, children's activities and rides and a magnitude of dessert trucks to whet anyone's appetite. Let's not forget, a good food festival must include a celebrity chef and who better than the king of desserts Adriano Zumbo. This is a great way to spend the weekend on a sugar high, testing different dessert options for those winter BBQ's and dinner parties, or to give the kids a treat or two before escaping to the beaches to cool off.

The festival kicks off at 10am to 7pm for those night owl dessert lovers. This is a ticketed event and tickets will sell fast. Online tickets are $10 for entry only, with gate tickets available at a different rate. Ticket upgrades are available which includes a ride pass for an extra $30. Tickets can be purchased online at
