Did you know that the Sunshine Coast is celebrating Fifty Years in 2017 - it's going to be a year full of celebrations, festivities and fun things to do. The 50th Anniversary of the Naming of the Sunshine Coast will be officially commemorated on 1 August 2017.

Just in time for Christmas the Sunshine Coast Council have released the Still Shining … Celebrating 50 Years 2017 cultural heritage calendar with iconic images showcasing the Sunshine Coast. This stunning Heritage Levy funded calendar celebrates the Sunshine Coast lifestyle and landscapes.



A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to secure a calendar depicting photos from the 1960's and 1970's selected from the portfolios of six winners of the heritage calendar photographic competition and Council's own Picture Sunshine Coast collection.

You can enjoy symbolic photos of the beach, pineapples and cane trucks as some of the images that make an appearance in this beautiful heritage calendar for 2017. I don't want to spoil the surprise for you so am only adding two photos to my article, just a taste-tester - there are twelve months!
