One day I listened to a man give a tutorial on computer security. I learned a lot. But even more surprising was that this man was 90 yrs old. So I really took notice when he did some promotion of the Sunshine Coast Computer Club.

The following Saturday I visited the club and was given an introduction by a 93 yr old man. I was sold. I joined straight away. The annual membership fee is $50 plus $4 for each visit to cover coffee and cake at morning tea.

Most of the members are older with the majority being men, but there are many women members who are very eager to improve their computer skills. This club is not so much about learning how to use your computer, but how to increase your knowledge. Plus information about computer security which is what many of us worry about.

Every week a tutorial is given by the president. He uses a microphone and speaks very clearly. He makes sure everyone understands what he says. There are many men in the club with excellent skills who are very happy to help new members. I even found someone to help me sort out some issues I had with a new phone.

The club has a very comprehensive website and sends out emails every week so we always know what's happening. They also have a small library of relevant books that can be borrowed.

The club is in Sugar Bag Rd, Caloundra, opposite the High School. Plenty of parking.
