Sunshine Coast Christmas Lights
Holy Christmas lights, Batman! There's the average Joe who strings a couple of lights up outside his house for a couple of weeks and then there's the Lifepointe Baptist Church in Buderim. This is the Sunshine Coast's largest free Christmas event, plus it's the 10th anniversary so they're sure to make it extra special.
Like a moth attracted to light you too will be drawn in by the big, bright Christmas lights display. It's so bright you can see them from the Sunshine Motorway as you drive by. But there's more to this than just the lights - it's a brilliant reminder of why we celebrate the season. There's also the annual production, an expo, the Bethlehem walk and a baby animal farm.
This year's production, 'The Reason', will use multimedia, drama, dance and song to really drum in the meaning of Christmas. The musicians, singers, actors and dancers will lead a 45 minute presentation depicting the reason for Christmas and the difference it's made for so many people. They'll be performing twice nightly.
Last year's production drew a huge crowd!
The Expo of Hope has labelled itself as a 'market with a difference'. There will be homewares, art, jewellery, clothes, handbags and others - perfect for last minute gifts of those pesky stocking stuffers. Best of all, profits go back into funding the works of the 30 organisations behind the event. Click here for a full list of the benefactors.
Take a trip to Bethlehem in this convincing interactive drama.
The Bethlehem Walk is as it sounds. This is an interactive drama where guests experience first century Bethlehem when Jesus came to earth. They spare no expense here - the sights, the sounds, and even the smell have been carefully planned to help immerse yourself in another world. There will be a market place with shops and you can even try something from the baker.
It ain't just Christmas lights - check out the petting zoo!
Everyone loves a petting zoo, especially the kids. Here's a chance to hold, pat, brush and even feed baby and adult animals. There will be goats, sheep, lambs, chickens, ducks, piglets and alpacas.
People are always complaining that the meaning of Christmas has been lost - well here's a way to get that spirit back. Bring your friends and family for a Christmas adventure you won't soon forget.
