Have you ever visited our very own airport here on the Sunshine Coast? I love it and tend to refer to it as our 'dinky' little airport.
Here's are some interesting statistics about the Sunshine Coast's international visitors in the last year:
A massive 40.8% more American tourists visited the region compared to last year
We've had a 95% increase in visitor nights from German tourists
And, a record 2.9 million visitor nights were booked by New Zealanders
The International Visitor Statistics (IVS) figures released at the start of this month also revealed international tourism expenditure increased 17.8% to $236 million, close to the highpoint in international expenditure reached in March 2010.&
#8232 ; With statistics like this, when I refer to our 'dinky little' airport, it's definitely tongue-in-cheek!
has so much to offer, whether you're travelling or just want to pop in for a coffee, plane-watch from the Observation Deck, meet family or friends arriving or browse their boutique'y outlets - yep, you can do this too - by going through the security (not a biggie) - and I just know you'll be very pleasantly surprised.
If you're planning on visiting the Sunshine Coast, why not opt to fly instead - there are always specials available from the major cities, with Jetstar, Virgin, Qantas and Air New Zealand proudly utilising 'our' Airport. It's a very welcoming Airport, staff are always friendly - I think it's the sensational weather we have up here on the Coast. Free Wi-fi is also available plus very reasonably priced Short and Long-Term Parking.
With so much on offer, I can understand how the is growing in leaps and bounds!
