Once upon a time on there was a castle in Bli Bli, on the Sunshine Coast. One day a prince and princess took a visit with their parents and had a wonderful day exploring from the deepest depths to the tallest tower.

There are plenty of things for the kids at . They can explore the throne room, with knight protector. Go down to the dungeon then head through the myriad of passageways to the top tower for great views of the coast. There are treasure hunt clues to follow as well as a dress up box.

The passages hold an extensive doll museum, which hosts cultural dolls, fairy tale diorama's, buildings, trains and everything in between. If you have an interest in dolls or fairy tales this is the place for you.

Depending on the day, the castle offers different surprises. Bli Bli markets occur on the first and third Saturday of the month. And Sunday afternoons often see the local re-enactment club practising with swords on the front lawn. Also keep an eye out for the Medieval Festival, which will see the castle come alive with a multitude of medieval characters.

Sunshine castle is an interesting back drop for events be they birthday parties or weddings, where participants can feast in the great hall or wander around a bazaar. If you don't have a crowd, they have several Medieval Feasting and Theatre nights in December.

is about an hour and a half out of Brisbane at Bli Bli. It's also ninety percent undercover so it is an option on wet days. More information can be found at their website.
