Sunset Sessions at Cockatoo Island. Great music, good food and spectacular view
Does it get any better than this? As the sun sets behind Cockatoo Island, we take in the view over Sydney Harbour, its iconic bridge and the city skyline. They call it the golden hour - light glistening on the water and bouncing off skyscrapers and old sandstone buildings alike. To top off the sensory experience, we listen to live music on the lawn and tuck into a picnic with delicious grazing boxes and a glass of bubbly. A perfect Sydney evening.

BYO picnic or let Marina Cafe & Bar do all the work with their food and beverages. Grazing boxes and glass of bubbly highly recommended!
Sunset Sessions is a family-friendly event running from 21 January to 1 April 2023. Held on Sydney's fascinating Cockatoo Island, this event has become a "must do" for residents and visitors to the Emerald City. It's Sydney at its best, showcasing the summer culture with its relaxed outdoor vibe, picnic on the lawns, harbour in the background and live music. Cockatoo Island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the historic Biloela House sits atop the island, providing a stunning backdrop for performances by talented Australian home-grown musicians. The diverse line-up across the Sunset Sessions series* promises something for everyone.

Cockatoo Island's Marina Cafe & Bar bring the pizzaz into picnic with their delicious food and refreshments which are available to all ticket-holders. You're also welcome to bring your own picnic (minus alcohol which must be purchased within the event venue).

If you're wanting to escape for more than the evening, you can book an overnight stay in Cockatoo Island's authentic heritage accommodation or its award-winning waterfront campground. More information on the campground and overnight stays can be found here.
