Summer screams for an outdoor cinema experience and you'll get it at The Sunset Cinema (55B Blessington St, St Kilda) at St Kilda Botanical Gardens (11 Herbert St, St Kilda), which is surrounded by Herbert, Blessington, Dickens and Tennyson Streets in St Kilda. Head to the website to see what's on offer and make your booking. With all bookings at $15 an adult and $10 for children aged 3 to 12 year olds (under 3 is free and doesn't require an admission ticket), it's an affordable night out under the stars, to do cinema differently. Get the FAQs here . If you'd like to treat someone special with a gift card, whether it's for their birthday, to say thank you, or just because, see here .

For those who want to luxuriate and treat themselves to an upgrade or seating option for their Sunset experience, you can add on the Arnott's Tim Tam Lounge for a delectable Tim Tam experience. It includes a bean lounge for one, reserved prime viewing area, a Tim Tam treat to share and bottomless popcorn! Admission not included, must be added or a pass redeemed. You must have one Lounge upgrade per person to be seated together. You could also upgrade just a little and choose to hire a Sunset Bean Bag for $10. These upgrades sell out pretty fast, so you have to be pretty quick.

Everyone knows an outdoor cinema experience is one that is very social, hence the fast sell on the upgrades. Everyone brings their besties, their mates, their loved ones, to picnic together in the park while waiting for the screening to begin. There are food trucks serving up mouth watering meals, a licensed bar and movie must-haves like fresh popcorn, Bulla cinema choc-tops and snacks on the premises to satisfy your cinema snacking needs. Do note Sunset Cinema is a cashless event and vendors and snack bar only accepts card. Order onsite from the comfort of your bean bag/seat through a Mr Yum QR code and get a text when it's ready to collect. You can also pack your own picnic old school style.

There's an amazing choice of films to choose from, and mostly recent or currently screening films at the indoor cinemas. Lyle, Lyle, the singing crocodile has to be a favourite for the kids/whole family, with the fabulous voice of Shawn Mendes as Lyle, churning out the tunes, and the talented Javier Bardem as Lyle's charismatic owner. There's a big crocodile and an even bigger personality at play here.

The Menu is oozing with top talent like Ralph Fiennes, Anya Taylor-Joy (if you've seen her in The Queen's Gambit, you'll know how amazing she is), and Nicholas Hoult where Fiennes is an eccentric, perhaps slightly strange chef who has prepared a lavish menu on a coastal island, with some shocking surprises.

M3Gan is for the brave. She may be a toy, but not necessarily for children, so approach with caution. From the most prolific minds in horror - James Wan, the filmmaker behind 'Saw' and the likes, comes a fresh new face in terror. A life-like doll that's a marvel of artificial intelligence, M3Gan is programmed to be a child's greatest companion and a parent's greatest ally.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is definitely one to take the whole family to. Puss has burned through eight of his nine lives, though he lost count along the way with his passion for peril and disregard for safety. Getting those lives back will be his grandest quest yet. The great Antonio Banderas continues to lend his voice to Puss.

With stories of damaged relationships in The Banshees of Inisherin; a grumpy widower who only gets joy when criticising and judging others in A Man Called Otto; a child who befriends a magnificent wild blue groper in Blueback; a story about Whitney Houston in I Wanna Dance With Somebody and more, there's plenty to keep you entertained.

The botanical gardens is a natural outdoor inner city park with various terrain and access for people with limited mobility is possible to most areas of the gardens including the Sunset Cinema site. There is a small step to get onto the grassed area. Wheelchair accessible parking is available with surrounding street parking having some disabled parking spots, but these are open to the public.
