Outdoor movies, beautiful gardens, food and wine this autumn
Sunset Cinema, a long-time favourite of Sydney outdoor cinema goers, is making its much-anticipated debut in Brisbane this autumn, running from Thursday 15 March to Saturday 7 April. And the breathtaking backdrop for this cinematic spread will be Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens, one of Brisbane's favourite outdoor spaces.

Sunset Cinema isn't just about the movies, although they're certainly the star of the show. You can enjoy a full sensory experience lying on the manicured lawn under clear Brisbane autumn night skies, and enjoying a range of food and drink options, depending on your choice of ticket.

Opening night begins at 5pm with a live performance by Fernando Aragones, follwed by the 6pm screening of Molly's Game, starring Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba. It's the story of former skier, Molly Bloom who ran a high-stakes poker game for the rich and famous.

Other highlights of the three-week program are The Post on Saturday 24 March, starring Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks; a special advance screening on Wednesday 28 March, of the new Aardman (Wallace and Gromit and Chicken Run) venture Early Man, with voices by Eddie Redmayne, Tom Hiddleston and Timothy Spall; and on Tuesday 3 April, the P.T Barnum musical bio-pic, The Greatest Showman with Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams and Zac Efron. See the full program here so you can pick your favourites and plan your viewing.

Food options include snacks from the on-site Snack Bar (try a bag of Cobs Popcorn) or a little Cajun-inspired something from Brisbane food truck, The Dapper and Chic. The event is fully licensed with suppliers including MadFish Wines, 4 Pines craft beers, Presha fruit juices, and Bickfords traditional soda.

Tickets are available by clicking on the link to the movie of your choice from the program here.
