Choose your own food trail on 12 November with $2 menu items
Brisbane's Sunnybank boasts a slice of Asian foodie culture that rivals Chinatown in its scope and diversity. Fancy some sushi or Hong Kong Barbeque? They've got you covered. Dumplings or Chinese Sichuan? No problem. Hot Pot or Korean? Just ask and you shall receive. This lively culinary corner of Brisbane welcomes people all year round but twice a year they present their famous Sunnybank $2 Food Trail, where diners can choose from a huge range of $2 menu items on their very own tantalising tasting trail. The good news is that the Sunnybank $2 Food Trail Summer Edition will satisfy all your senses on Saturday 12 November from 2pm to 8pm.
19,000 hungry diners invaded Sunnybank for their successful Winter Edition in June, and the impending Summer Edition has even more to offer. More than 40 food vendors from the popular Sunnybank Plaza and Sunny Park shopping centres will throw open their doors for your very own culinary tour of Asia, $2 plate by $2 plate. You can get a taste of everything from Chinese, Japanese and Hong Kong style to Vietnamese, Taiwanese and Korean cuisine and much more.
[ADVERT]The enterprising people at Experience Sunnybank have created something special that's guaranteed to please your palate. Their 'choose-your-own adventure' style tasting trails let you make your way through both shopping centres, utilising the trail that best suits your requirements. Six new curated mini tasting trails include the Yum Cha Trail (Sunnybank's favourite dining style); the more traditional Authentically Asian Trail; the Vegetarian Trail so vegetarians can also enjoy the experience; a Little Foodies Trail suitable for children: the Sweet Tooth Trail for those who can't resist the sweet stuff; and the Cool It Down Trail, especially for summer.
And the event isn't just about the tasty, aromatic foodie experience. There will also be some Brisbane musicians, roaming lion dancers, free balloons for the kids and, wait for it... stilt walking geisha girls. Now, if that's not something for everyone, I don't know what is.
If you click 'going' on the official event Facebook page here you will also be in the running to win a $200 Sunnybank Foodie's Experience for you and a friend that includes a $40 Food Trail voucher and a double pass to one of Sunnybank's fabulous Food Discovery Tours with tour guide and chef, Tony Ching.
When: Saturday 12 November from 2pm to 8pm Where: Sunnybank Plaza and Sunny Park - corner of Mains Rd & McCullough St, Sunnybank. Note: these centres are on opposite sides of the street but are connected by a flyover. Cost: Free to enter, $2 per menu item
