Strawberry Explosion
We were heading to Mornington Peninsula and decided to dropped by Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm before heading out to the beach.

Although we have been to Mornington Peninsula many times but we were not aware of Sunny Ridge existence until I saw the posting on my friend's facebook with her yummy strawberry ice cream.

I was expecting a quiet cafe on a late afternoon, on a weekday but was surprise to see a huge crowd instead. Wonder how we could have missed this place all these while. Their dessert cafe have good selection of strawberry treats and we had a hard time deciding. We ended up ordering their tasting platter which came with fresh strawberries and Belgian milk chocolate, dried strawberries, their award winning farm made strawberry ice cream and sorbet and a mini patisserie accompanied by tea or coffee for two. I opted for a hot chocolate instead of coffee which attracts additional $2.

Tasting Platter

These strawberries are nothing like those sold in the supermarkets. These are huge strawberries and they usually serve them with their Belgian Chocolate Fondue and Tasting Platter.

We will definitely be back for more strawberries experience and hopefully they will still be sweet in other seasons.

I actually prefer small strawberries, I think they have more flavour.

The strawberries were sweet. Better than the usual smaller strawberries I bought from the supermarkets.

Monster strawberries. The platter looks most attractive and delicious.

Bryony has a good point. Were the strawberries mainly for effect, or did they also have a good flavour?
