You know what my favourite part about Instagram is? It's the serendipity of being introduced to small businesses making great desserts. Whilst their first post dates back to July 2021, it seems has been doing event catering for longer than that. Scrolling through their feed there's a tantalising variety of treats like brioche beestings, millefeuille, and various flavours of cheesecakes and cookies.

Recently they have been selling tasting boxes, so you can get a hold of their goods for a special Sunday treat or get an idea of their wares if you have an event coming up. These boxes seem to be happening once every couple of weeks.

The contents is largely a surprise, but prior to the release date, you can get a sneak peek of what's included in their Instagram stories. The boxes come in two sizes. A small box goes for $30 and is recommended for 3 people whilst a medium box sets you back $45 and feeds 5 people.

I ordered a small Spring tasting box, which consisted of 6 different items. I thought this was really good value considering they all required different techniques and ingredients, and there was minimal overlap in the flavours. The packaging was pretty too! The lid of the box had a clear window so we could preview what we would be sinking our teeth into. An accompanying printout of the menu was taped to the corner with washi tape, and the addition of the classic red checked sheet underneath really gave off picnic vibes.

My favourites were the brown sugar cheesecake and butterscotch drizzle and the strawberry and elderflower mille-feuille. The cheesecake wasn't overwhelmingly sweet and it was super creamy. And the millefeuille layers were textbook, wafer-thin and crispy! Pity strawberries weren't at their peak which did let the dessert down a bit though. Special mention also to their rhubarb and rose cake. The cake itself was moist and had a good crumb, I just don't like icing.

Orders are made via Instagram DM, and you can pay in cash or by bank transfer. Pickup was on Sunday between 10 - 11am at a residential house in the inner south suburbs. P.S I'd also recommend you pick up the box yourself and not send your passenger because there was an adorable cat when we went. I'm far from a morning person, but this was one box (and a cat!) I was happy to trade my sleep in for.
