Sunday brunches in Singapore have transformed from a rare delight to the mundane over the years. The endless serve of gourmet food and champagne are a commonplace activity in many private and hotel restaurants around the island. Diners are spoilt for choice with popular venues like Basilico in Regent Hotel, Grand Hyatt's Mezz9, Edge in Pan Pacific and David Myers' Adrift. For a dining venue with water views, fine food imported from France and free flow of Taittinger Champagne, there's nothing like Kwee Zeen.

Located in the luxurious setting of Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa atop a cliff, this restaurant boasts landscape gardens and panoramic views of the South China Sea. The kitchen headed by Executive Chef Bertrand Valegeas presents a gastronomic journey with varied flavours and textures. Accompanied by a repertoire of attentive service, spacious seating, children entertainment and pool priviledges, the Magnifique Sunday Champagne Brunch is a class act that's difficult to follow.

Here are top reasons to make Kwee Zeen your venue for a long afternoon of gourmet indulgence with family and friends.

[SECTION]Gourmet Français[/SECTION]

Fans of French cuisine and gourmet food will be pleased to note that more than 40 percent of the dishes presented in the Magnifique Sunday Champagne Brunch are sourced directly from France. They include oysters, seafood, cheeses and charcuterie.

[SECTION]Epicurean Feast[/SECTION]

Cold and hot dishes are displayed as far as the eye can see. Kwee Zeen serves up a delectable feast for the senses with 16 different culinary ateliers that flow from the restaurant entrance through the interior and onto the outdoor terrace.

Think international seafood, carvery, Chinese noodles, Tandoori chicken, Thai tom yum soup, egg pasta, mushroom risotto, sliced prosciutto, salads, housemade chocolates , fairy floss, chocolate fountain and desserts.

An indoor live cooking station serves up a-la-minute foie gras and pasta. Another live cooking station located at the outdoor terrace offers seafood in tanks like live prawns and shellfish that are prepared in a variety of Asian styles. The neighbouring Indian section fills the air with the aroma of fresh tandoori meats and prata.

This Sunday gastronomic feast would not be complete without champagne. Kwee Zeen provides generous refills of the golden Taittinger Brut Reserve. Taittinger is one of Champagne's oldest cellars since 1743. This easy-to-drink cuvée with clean and fresh flavours and a nose of fruit is an excellent accompaniment to the wide range of French and Asian dishes.

[SECTION]Seafood Galore[/SECTION]

Executive Chef Bertrand and his team are exceptionally proud of the seafood section and they should be. The selection of fresh seafood is very impressive. Crab varieties on ice include Tourteau, Dungeness, Mud , Flower, Snow and Brown.

There's the ever popular Boston Lobster and pink prawns with cocktail sauce.

Oyster aficionados have four varieties to savour from France, USA, New Zealand and Ireland. Broiled shellfish include mussels, clams and periwinkles .

There is a variety of caviar paired with blinis and the smoked and cured salmon are housemade. Fans of sashimi can also indulge in cuts of salmon and tuna alongside sushi.

[SECTION]Fromage de France[/SECTION]

We can't have a French brunch without cheese. At Kwee Zeen, the selection would put any fromagerie in Singapore to shame. Chef Bertrand serves up 32 types of gourmet cheese, mostly sourced from France with a few from Italy and the UK.

The chef's recommendations include the Gruyère de Comté from the Franche-Comté region of eastern France, and the Cantal and Salers from the Auvergne region of central France. It also has a superb repertoire of goat cheeses that are unavailable in many other Singapore restaurants.

[SECTION]Suckling Pig[/SECTION]

Kwee Zeen serves up a French-style suckling pig that is unavailable in most other Sunday brunches. The slow roasted suckling pig is prepared in the kitchen and paraded around the restaurant to provide talking points and photo opportunities for guests before being served at the outdoor carvery station.

[SECTION]Al fresco Dining with Views[/SECTION]

The outdoor terrace of Kwee Zeen offers a covered al fresco dining experience surrounded by landscaped gardens and views of the South China Sea. The island's peacocks can often be spot strolling the perimeters of the outdoor terrace in single and pairs.

An outdoor seating away from the main restaurant doesn't mean less attentive service. Kwee Zeen's kitchen and waiting team visit each table periodically to serve different dishes and interact with guests.

[SECTION]Children Entertainment[/SECTION]

Taking a family with young children out to a long brunch can prove challenging. Kwee Zeen offers an ideal environment where the adults can relax and indulge, while the little ones are entertained and minded by the resort staff. A separate function room near the restaurant's outdoor terrace serves as the children's playhouse, complete with complimentary movies and cartoons to watch on a big screen, games, drinks and even bites to eat.

[SECTION]Getaway to Sentosa[/SECTION]
