Sun Theatre

Published May 26th 2011
If you are regular movie goer, you may have noticed that the prices at some of the big cinema chains have increased substantially over the past couple of years.

The Sun Theatre in Yarraville, has been operating since 1938 and is now home to six luxury boutique cinemas.

Tickets can be purchased at a reasonable price of $10 for seniors and children under 17, $12 for students, pensioners and concession card holders, and $16 for adults. On Mondays and Tuesdays all tickets are only $10, or if you want to become a Sun Member for $12, you can see any film on any day for $11.50.

As well as the usual big release movies, you can view art-house movies from time to time. If it is luxury that you are after, the Sun also has its version of Gold Class, with the La Scala theatre. For an affordable family outing, date night, or a get together with friends, why not venture out of your suburb?

There are some great little cafes, pubs and restaurants along this strip too, so you could start or finish the evening with a few drinks and a meal.
