It's not always a pool one thinks of going to. But there is a good reason to go there for these school holidays with the kids. It's the January Summer Splash, a family-friendly event celebrating all things Summer and swimming! Enjoy music, slushies, a mermaid meet and greet, a colouring competition, and aquatic fun at the Doug Ellis Swimming Pool.

Everyone is welcome to attend this event, but please register via Eventbrite.



This super event has no additional fees, just the pool's standard entry fees.
Casual visit - child: 5 - 15 years of age $5.10
(children under the age of 5 are included in adult swim entry)
Casual visit - adult $6.60 $7.80
Casual swim, spa, sauna and steam room visit - adult
(minimum age of 16 years for the spa, sauna and steam room) $13.20
Family Swim Pass (2 Adults & 3 Children) N/A $22.90
Spectator entry $2.00

Entry is free for those who are enrolled in swimming lessons (LTS and HISP) or have a Monash Sport Aquatics membership.

The Doug Ellis Swimming Pool at Monash University Clayton comprises three heated indoor pools under one roof. All pools are open to the public and in addition to general swimming, learn-to-swim lessons, squad training, infant aquatics, adult learn-to-swim lessons, tri-swim squad training, fun days and swimming carnivals.

There are two 25-metre, 6-lane indoor heated pools, one with a "variable depth" floor. This means that the floor can be adjusted so that the effective depth of the pool is anywhere from 0 to 2.1 metres, making it equally suitable for beach entry family activities and sports like water polo and SCUBA diving.

The main 25-metre pool has a free-form leisure pool attached, accommodating both lap swimming and small children. There is also a spa, sauna, and steam room, which adds another dimension to the family's aquatic experience.

The event will run from 4 pm to 7 pm. The Mermaid meet & greet will be from 4 pm - 6pm with Marianna. The Mermaid swimming show will follow at 6:15 pm in the variable pool.



Car parking is available on campus. The closest car park to the Doug Ellis swimming pool is the southeast car park, which is highlighted pink on the university parking map.
