Keep the kids entertained for free in Feb in Cockburn
Even though the school holidays are well and truly over, the fun continues on The Piazza at Cockburn Gateway, with the Summer Party Mix rolling into town.
There's something happening every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening in February at the Piazza, including outdoor movie nights, live music and a giant inflatable pirate ship and water slide that the kids will simply love. The best part is that it's all free entertainment.
On Tuesday, 21st and 28th February, come along and listen to the lively, top-tapping sounds of the gypsy jazz live on The Piazza stage from 5pm to 8pm. There will be plenty happening for the kids, including face painting, entertainers and family games. If you haven't been to the Piazza, it is a great spot for a family meal, with plenty of dining options around, plus a kids playground. It's also just a short walk from the Cockburn Central Train Station, making it super handy to access.
If you love Cuban and Latin music, four-piece band Al Medio will be taking over the Piazza stage on Friday, 24th February from 5pm to 8pm. The kids will be well entertained in their own right, with family games and face painters at the ready to keep them amused.
On Saturdays in February, you and the kids can enjoy some classic family movies on the outdoor screen, including Shrek on 18th February and ET on 25th February. Listen out for Little Miss Squeezebox and her accordion, while face painters will be doing the rounds.
Sundays are all about the kids. Every Sunday in February, they can cool off on the water slide and huge inflatable pirate ship, which will be on the grassed area just next to Dragon Palace from 4pm to 7pm. Once they've had enough sliding and bouncing, take them over to the Bizircus workshops, where they can learn circus skills between 4.30pm and 7.30pm. The workshops will be held just next to the kids' play equipment. Even if you don't have children, musical duo Arthur King will be providing additional entertainment with some guitar and drum-based classics.
This free family entertainment combines awesome dining with great live music and fun things to keep the kids amused, and is a great way to unwind after a busy day or week at school or work.
