Summer of Soul 2016

Summer of Soul is back in 2016, with plenty of fantastic home grown musicians who know how to belt out a good tune. Presented by the Lyrebird Arts Council, this one day music festival brings together some great local performers and bands that are making their mark on the city's soul and funk scene.

Kicking off the line-up will Melbourne Mass Gospel Choir at 2pm, so prepare for plenty of foot stomping and hand clapping, gospel style. Melbourne Ska Orchestra are also back by popular demand, bring together some of Australia's best known Ska and Reggae performers.

Sakswatch are sure to be another highlight, a band that has risen to fame over the past few years and consistently delivers fun high energy performances which are sure to get you dancing. The nine piece will perform songs from their new album, full of soulful ballads about the ups and downs of life we all go through.
