The Blue Room Theatre's award-winning Summer Nights theatre program will return in 2022 with twelve hot new shows lined up featuring unique and visual storytelling and strong performances from some of Perth-Boorloo's best new and established artists. Summer Nights is an annual curated program of theatre and performance held at the Blue Room Theatre during Perth's bustling Summer Festival Season. The goal of Summer Nights is to present high-quality, diverse stories, that encourage discussion on social issues and showcase some of Western Australia's best independent artists.

Located in the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre, the Blue Room Theatre has been supporting Western Australia's independent theatre scene for 30 years. Since 2010, The Blue Room Theatre has presented 283 works and supported over 2,500 artists over 11 festivals and it was a FRINGE WORLD registered program from 2012 to 2020. Summer Nights has been so HUGE in the past it won FRINGE WORLD'S Best Independent Program Award for seven years in a row. In 2022 Summer Nights will be an independent event. It is going to be BIG.

Summer Nights 2022 will run at the Blue Room Theatre from Friday, 21 January to Saturday, 12 February 2022. To help get the party started, the festival will open with a FREE housewarming party held at the Blue Room Theatre on Friday, 21 February from 3pm-late for people 18 years and older. The Blue Room Theatre will be teaming up with community radio and the sound alternative RTRFM 92.1 to host a special outdoor broadcast of Friday's Full Frequency with Rok Riley from 3pm to 5pm.
