Summer is set to continue in our parks, when the sun comes out, and also when the City of Boroondara presents their annual outdoor concert program, Summer Music.

Let's hope the two coincide.

The first of these free concerts will be on at Beckett Park between 6pm to 10pm on Saturday 7 February.

For a starters Beckett Park is a great shady park with extensive grassy areas and a fine children's adventure playground. It is usually an off-lead dog park but for the night's entertainment council is asking that people bring their dog on a short leash.

If coming by tram, catch the 109. It is a bit of workout walking up Parring Road but the views are worth it.

If you are driving, there is limited parking in this street so try the surrounding streets. There are lots of mansions and gardens to have a peak at as you walk up to the park.

Better still if you are local then ride your bike or walk. Bring a rug and a picnic although there will be food vendors selling delicious food.

The line up includes Sydney future-folk/soul songstress Ngaiire (pronounced Ny-Ree) who is known for her extravagant and colourful performances. Chelsea Wilson is a Melbourne based vocalist, songwriter, broadcaster and DJ and lots of her music is inspired by sixties soul and seventies afrobeat. Chelsea produces and presents the Jazz Got Soul program on PBS 106.7FM. Archer brings you folk and blues and Hue Blanes
is a virtuoso pianist with a melancholic singing voice.

Below are a couple of tasters.
