A unique pop up to celebrate summer
Summer's coming! What better way to celebrate than with a relaxed morning at the park? Even better if someone else has done all the hard work! .... The Discovery Club's latest pop up event is 'Summer Land', to be held at the Northam Markets November 7th.
There will be a sausage sizzle available from 7:30am-1pm as well as lighter options such as yoghurt and some very unique drinks!
From 8am onwards a 'chill out zone' will be provided for adults complete with seating. Kids (and big kids) can enjoy some activities put together by the Discovery Club, a group of volunteers who aim to connect communities through discovery. There will also be the chance to pot up a sunflower seed. A gold coin donation is appreciated to help them fund this work.
The action takes place in Northam's Bernard Park, with the sausage sizzle in the rotunda and the activities next door, right next to the popular water playground (pack some bathers for the kids!).
As part of National Recycling Week, there will also be a free book swap where you can bring a book and take a book. This is a fun way to refresh your reading list without spending a cent. A range of reusable products will also be available for sale, with proceeds going to the Discovery Club.
On the same day, the Maali Circle of Elders are conducting a river walk, leaving from the Northam Visitor's Centre at 8am. The Visitor's Centre is located right next to Bernard Park. Stop past the rotunda for some breakfast before you head off, and support the organisers of this awesome community event.
