So much to choose from

With the sun shining the beaches glistening and dozens of great events on the Peninsula, there is no reason to spend summer anywhere else.

Markets:
*Red Hill Craft market is on the 4th of January ad 1st of February between 8am-1pm at the Red Hill Recreation Reserve. One of the first and most famous of all markets within Victoria. Red Hill market has over 300 stalls.

*Point Nepean Portsea Craft market is on 19th of January held in the Quarantine Grounds of Point Nepean National Park between 10am-3pm. Parking is $5 and no dogs are permitted.

*Flinders market is on the 5th of January and is a fun community market with a mix of trash and treasure, hand made and baked goods and anything that goes really.

Rye Gift Athletics Carnival is an annual event held at the Rye Football Ground on the 11th of January and sees a mix of amateur athletes competing to take out cash and prizes. Spectator entry fee is $10, children are free.

*Portsea Polo probably needs little introduction, it's on the 11th of January between 10:30am - 6pm and is held in the grounds of the Quarantine Station of Point Nepean National Park. For all the single ladies out there this could be the place to snare your prince or at least someone that likes the ponies and champagne. Tickets for the event are $75 and can be booked here.

Portsea Pro Am is on the 2nd of January at Portsea Golf Course. Spectator entry is $10 and includes car parking. With $30,00 in prize money competition is going to be strong.

Portsea Twilight Fun Run is on the 4th of January. Choose between a 3.75km walk/run or the 7.75km walk/run. This fun run would have to be one of the most scenic fun runs around. Adult entry is $40 or $48 on the day.

Australia Day Fun Run ( January 26th) starts from Safety Beach or Dromana to Rosebud, with the option of 5.3km or 10km run. Entry is $35.
