School holidays are here and if your kids are forever saying "mum (or dad for that matter) we're bored", then Summer by the Sea hosts a range of activities all along our beautiful coastline. Organised by Coastcare Victoria, in partnership with Parks Victoria, hundreds of free activities are on offer with something for everyone.
It's a great opportunity to discover these special places and to learn about some of the challenges facing our marine and coastal environments.
From Rockpool Rambles, where you will discover which creatures make the rockpools their home, to Junior Rangers Beachcomber where Parks Victoria rangers will teach you about the plants and animals in the area, you're bound to find plenty of fun and learn something at the same time.
Maybe you'd like to give fishing a go? Sign up for a Fishing Workshop where you can learn the basics of fishing, rules and regulations, handling fish, releasing fish with care, hook removal, pest fish, knot tying and learning how to cast.
Even your family pooch can join in the fun with a free breakfast for dogs and their humans. Local experts will help you discover the biodiversity and wildlife living along our beaches, and learn what we can all do to care for it. Dogs must be on a lead.
