Just perfect for those who cant colour between the lines
Renowned artist, Pablo Picasso, once said, "The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls".
Sadly, this does not mean that we are all blessed with the ability and talent to create our own artwork. Hand me a box of watercolour paints and more paint lands on the floor than the canvas.
Thank goodness for the Summer Art Market organised by The Old Schoolhouse Gallery at 124 - 126 Shore Street North, Cleveland Point, which will take place on the Gallery grounds on Sunday, 25th November 2018.
The Old Schoolhouse Gallery Inc is a group of local artists who seek to provide a showcase for their artistic talent in the Redlands. Their aim is to promote and develop excellence in the artistic life of the region by way of promoting visual arts by instruction, information and inspiration. Members of the public are welcome to attend exhibitions and workshops and are able to purchase the work of local artisans.
This is what sets the Summer Art Market apart from many other markets: the works available for sale are in many cases one-off pieces, with most featuring all the hallmarks of a distinctively Redlands Coast vibe. Forget that myth that handmade items are all expensive too - there will be items that won't break the bank despite their individuality.
There will also be art demonstrations if you are looking for that motivation to develop a new skill.
The market begins at 10am and finishes at 3pm.
The five indoor galleries will also be open for viewing so this is a great opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of our beautiful Redlands, as well as the unique artworks created by our local creatives. Note that these galleries are linked and are wheelchair accessible.
There is off street and on street parking and Entry is Free.
A day out enjoying the local hospitality and beautiful bay breezes sounds far better than painting (the house), doesn't it? Come and wash some of that dust off.......
