Sumadi Boutique is a chic pre-loved clothing store on Semaphore Road specialising in new, second hand, brand name, retro, vintage and designer goods. Unlike a charity clothing shop such as Goodwill, St Vinnie's or other local op shops, Sumadi's stock is not donated, but rather is sold on consignment. This means that you'll find high quality items at bargain prices.

Under new management since March 2014, Sumadi's is not just your average second hand clothing store and you never know what you might find. We've spotted Mink Pink, Zara, Ralph Lauren, Witchery, Henleys, Cue and other boutique labels tucked away on the shelves. With so much on offer this is one place where it really pays to take your time and rummage for that perfect addition to your wardrobe.

You won't find too many budget everyday items from Kmart or Target; Kim and her staff are quite discerning on what they will and won't accept for consignment. This makes Sumadi the perfect place to bring clothes that are too good to give away, and it's easier than trying to list items online. Everyone is a winner.

For those shopping for a bargain expect to find a wide range of clothing, accessories and jewellery perfect to suit anything from weddings, formals, business, casual, dress-ups and collectables. A range of men's shirts are available at $7.50 each and you can even pick up full suits for a fraction of the price.

Vintage and retro goods are also to be found towards the back of the store, perfect for fancy dress parties or even adventurous individuals. Shoes, bags, jewellery and other accessories are also on offer ranging in price from $15 to $35, while occasionally a selection of higher quality pieces may be closer to $60.

Whatever you are after, rest assured that all consignment stock is carefully checked prior to being accepted to ensure they are clean and undamaged. Clothing items are then steam cleaned to ensure they are fresh and ready to purchase.

If you're in need of a pick-me-up, barista made coffees and hot chocolates are priced at just $2 for small or $3 for large. Available on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays for take away or in store consumption, it's the perfect opportunity to let your partner or husband sit and read the paper over a hot cuppa giving you time to meticulously sort through each rack for the perfect piece (or two).

Sumadi both employs and supports individuals living with mental illnesses through Diamond Clubhouse. This provides people with a way to gain the necessary skills to then move on to other employment opportunities, which we think is a fantastic initiative.

What we love about this style of shop is that stock turnover is high, so you can go back every couple of months to find more amazing pieces. Whether you're looking to grab a bargain or clear some space in your own wardrobe, you can't go past Sumadi Boutique.
