If you're looking for a new place to go for Easter or any weekend escape year-round, the Yorke Peninsula is always a crowd favourite. Sultana Point sits on the 'heel' of Yorke Peninsula just 7 minutes' drive further south past Edithburgh (approximately 2.5 hours' drive from Adelaide). Don't forget to stop into
Port Vincent Kiosk on the way for classic takeaway lunch of fish & chips or a Chiko roll!
Sultana Point is a small enclave of beach shacks and holiday rentals positioned on the white sandy shores with absolute beachfront, with a handful of newer home builds scattered just behind. This tiny settlement is a stone's throw from Edithburgh which means you're never far from amenities and other seaside attractions.
Sultana Point bears many similarities to the other points along the eastern coast, with north-facing white beaches that extend out to the east with views across Gulf St Vincent towards Adelaide, and sharply turns back on itself to continue down the coastline. These sheltered beaches are great for quiet breezy relaxation on your patio with a BBQ, cheese platter and wine overlooking the water, with the changing tide allowing you to dip your toes into the clear shallow water and perhaps go for a swim or snorkel or throw a line in from the sand.

Sultana Point doesn't have a boat ramp but if you have a beachfront rental you can still launch a tinny or windsurfer from the beach. Edithburgh has the nearest dedicated boat ramp and a tidal swimming pool.
A short drive nearby will take you to the
Wattle Point Wind Farm, with 55 towering turbines generating renewable electricity for South Australia.

Follow the roads south onto Troubridge Point Drive, and you will be treated to a coastal scenic drive with spectacular views of the sheer rocky cliffs dropping away to the sea below. You'll find the
Troubridge Hill Lighthouse standing guard at the very bottom of the heel too.

Walking trails crisscross the Peninsula as part of the '
Walk the Yorke' network of over 500km of walking & cycling trails. Sultana Point sits along this trail so you'll find some interpretive signage and nautical-themed artwork along this section known as the Mosaic Trail.
Spend your next visit checking out Sultana Point – there are plenty of rentals to choose from to enjoy all your favourite beachfront activities, and located close to other town centres and plenty more attractions. Any time of year is great to visit especially the warmer months - so remember to rug up against the chilly wind if you go during winter!
