Did you know that the phrase "suki" (& #22909 ;& #12365 ; or & #12377 ;& #12365 ;) means "like" in Japanese? Did you know that Suki is also the name of a newly opened restaurant in South Bank, Brisbane? That's right, Brisbane's very first poke bowl and sushi burrito restaurant has finally opened, and I do like it very much.

Suki is a restaurant influenced by Japanese and Mexican culture that offers two signature dishes - poke bowls and sushi burritos. As the name suggests, sushi burritos are a hybrid of both sushi and burritos together. Poke bowls, on the other hand, may be a relatively new concept to many people, as this dish had only started to become widely popular in the past year.

So what exactly is a poke bowl? According to this article , poke bowls originated centuries ago from Hawaii and contains cubed fish (generally raw) mixed with your choice of seasoning, usually on top of a bed of sushi rice. If raw fish is not your cup of tea, worry not as Suki provides you with a "hot protein" range to choose from when constructing your poke bowl or sushi burrito.

.

If you are in the South Bank area and want to try out something new and fresh, Suki is definitely a viable option. With cute decor, what seems like endless mix-and-match options, and a commitment to sustainable sourcing, Suki is definitely a place I will return to again. You can read up more on here .
