Dance the night away and express yourself
As the sun sets on Saturday the 10th of October, ravers will be putting on creative and colourful attire for the third instalment of Sugoi. Born in the Burdekin Hotel earlier this year, this addition to the Sydney UK-hardcore scene has really taken off - and I assure you, you're in for a night of art, euphoric music, and an energy that will have you dancing the night away.
As with One Seventy and Rocket Science, the sounds of UK-hardcore music will fill the venue. Hard, fast beats will keep your feet stomping. Melodies will keep the room in high spirits. The music policy however is to be diverse and to be journey based. Sugoi will serve up a tasting platter of genres to cater to its crowd. On the menu: Psytrance, Euphoric Hardstyle, and more.
New to Sugoi this time around is the Top 40 anthems set. I really can't wait to sing along to hits by artists such as Aqua, Vengaboys, Spice Girls, and, yes, Psy. As they play around with a range of genres, the DJs at Sugoi aim to give all who attend the opportunity to express themselves in the midst of a very enthusiastic crowd.
One great thing about Sugoi that sets it apart from other raves I've been to is the intimate nature of the event. Although there is separation between the dance-floor and lounge space, which is great to relax and socialise in, you never feel as though you have left the party. With its own amenities - bar, bathroom and smoking area - Sugoi creates a world of its own within the Burdekin.
This personal space helps Sugoi become an event that encourages freedom of expression. So, get your thinking-cap on and put together any outfit of your choice. You'll see an array of unique costumes. Not to mention, many are also decked out in colourful kandi bracelets, designed to be exchanged.
Not only will you experience a night full of vibrant outfits, but also vibrant laser lights that will illuminate the space. Keep an eye out for those with gloves and other light-up toys, for exquisite displays. Perhaps grab a pair of your own and take up this ideal opportunity to take them for a spin - literally!
For the line-up and to get in the loop with this quickly approaching event, join the Facebook event . For tickets, hop on Ticketbooth, visit Spawn Point or contact one of the promoters who have been posting on the event page. They are based in various areas around Sydney. This one-of-a-kind fun night out is just for $20. See you on the dance-floor!
