Sugar Republic is a delicious Melbourne museum dedicated to the celebration of desserts, candy and all things sweet. But it's not just for kids as there is plenty of adult flavour to their pop-up events.
When Sugar Republic ran their immersive sugar event in Fitzroy in 2018, it was a sell out hit, showing just how much people love immersing themselves in old-fashioned sweets and nostalgia.

Now the innovative company is back with an event that is even more centrally located. They've called it Even More Sugar and they are taking over the Sixth Floor of the iconic Myer Melbourne store for a limited time from Feb 2019.
If you attended their previous events, then this one has all-new installations and fresh backdrops.
Sure, it's great for kids and families but they also offer over 18's evenings, where kids are not allowed. So you can relive your childhood memories cocooned in the delights of sweet treats.
Here's your chance to play in a giant ball pit pool, visit a classic Milk Bar with every old-fashioned sweet imaginable, take a bath in a rainbow-filled room, jump out of a giant birthday cake or dance at an '80s neon disco amongst other things.
Bring your phone as there are all kinds of killer Instagram posts involving art installations, such as a giant jelly and ice creams, a candy-filled swing, life-size fairy bread, a confetti shower where you press a button and get rained upon.
Included in the prices is ice cream that you can decorate, sweet tastings and a Sugar Republic cocktail and dessert bar. There' even a retro candy store and gift shop.
Some experiences require that you remove your shoes so wear socks or tights, as you may not be allowed to participate with bare feet.
Most of the areas are wheelchair accessible but some of the activities are not. If you have any questions before your visit, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.

So is it a food fair? No, not really. Sugar Republic is primarily a pop up art event and a space for taking photos, however, there are tastings on offer for sugar-loving visitors, including ice cream and lollies. The treats on offer vary but you will always find at least 3-4 tastings. If you have any food allergies or requirements please ask staff for assistance.
This was the previous event in Fitzroy to give you the general gist of what to expect of the event.
