Eating a lot of refined sugar can supposedly lead to many illnesses. Most foods have sugar in them however in baking, you can make many items which do not have any added sugar in them. I personally use coconut sugar which is a by-product of coconut and not really sugar though it does still have the calories that sugar has.
You can be inspired at this cooking event with Carolyn Hartz. Carolyn is Australia's sugar free pioneer, founder of Sweetlife Australia and author of the cookbook Sugar Free Baking.
Carolyn stopped eating ordinary processed sugar almost 30 years ago after years of being addicted to sweets. I can relate to this as I have done the same, only I stopped a few years ago - I was a real sweet tooth and now am unable to eat the things I used to love so much!
Carolyn is based in Perth, is aged 55 years and joined the business sector when she opened SweetLife, a company that distributes a sugar alternative called Xylitol. She also went through an executive program at Harvard Business School and continues to maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle.
She is giving a FREE event for adults on Saturday 29th June 2019 from 1.30 pm to 3.00 pm. The venue will be the Knowledge Centre, 2232D Albany Highway, Gosnells. Please arrive by 1.15 pm.
Carolyn's Sugar-Free Baking cookbook is a lovely collection of 60 sugar-free and gluten-free recipes. This book proves you really can have your cake and eat it! There are delicious cakes and sweet treats that have all the sweetness you'd expect but without the guilt and the harmful effects that can happen by using everyday sugar or hidden sugar.
You will also be able to buy a copy of Carolyn's book at the event and then you can really start being healthy! And, you can even get the author to sign your book!
You must book and have your booking confirmed and remember, places are limited so you will need to book as soon as possible. And remember, you need to get there a bit early as mentioned, as latecomers will be refused entry.
You will be provided with tea and coffee at this event and the talk is brought to you courtesy of the City of Gosnells Library Services.
The Knowledge Centre is located within The Agonis building (enter from the Coles shopping centre side). You can park next to the building (enter via left slip lane from Albany Highway). There is also more parking behind the building (enter via Astley Street lights).
