West End has an abundance of great places to eat and sometimes this makes choosing a place difficult. Sometimes it just has to be pot luck. A couple of Saturdays ago, I spent a lovely weekend in the city staying in West End and found ourselves looking for a place for brunch and walked into Suburban. Our luck we found a table quickly and was greeted and served promptly.

But first coffee, which we all thought was on par with most of the other great coffees that we have had. I had the pleasure of a dirty chai for a nice kick of spice.

The menu had a good variety of dishes catering well to all dietary options from vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free. They offered dairy options such as soy milk and almond milk at no extra cost to regular milk, which was a nice surprise. They have an all-day menu so you are able to choose from the "brunch" menu or from the classics including nachos, fish and chips, pizza and burgers.

After ordering from the menu (table service), we sat back and watch the people of West End go by. Suburban is located on the corner of Melbourne and Boundary Street and it has both indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated outdoors enjoying the beautiful late Winter weather of Brisbane.

Our meals arrived soon after and we all were happy with our selections. I had chosen Sweet Potato Fritters with avocado, shallots, lemon and thyme whipped ricotta with a side of poached eggs ($21).

One of my friends had ordered the Grilled mushrooms, hummus with halloumi and sourdough with a side of poached eggs ($20)

And my other friend went for the Breakfast bun which was a bacon and egg bun with avocado, rocket, cheddar cheese and spicy relish. ($13)

We all agreed that the meals were tasty and hit the spot and would most likely keep us satisfied until well into the afternoon.
They are open from 6 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon and they also have a variety of tempting sweet dishes and cakes to go with those who might just want to pop in for a quick coffee and cake.

Parking is either in the street which is usually free on the weekends or there are a few Secure parking places close by. Or you might be walking from South Bank and find yourself end up here - Enjoy.
