Nature play and freedom to explore are touted as key factors in children's development and learning. So it is great to find places where you can relax and let your children experience nature in a relatively safe environment.

Today my two boys (aged 2 and 3) and I discovered the .

This wonderful nature play area is tucked behind the Subiaco Arts Centre with free street parking on Hensman Road and Hamersley Road or paid parking also available.

Launched in September this year, the play space caters for children of all ages. There is climbing, water play, sand, rocks and logs.

My energetic 3 year old favoured the climbing net and balancing on logs while my 2 year old took to the sand and water for maximum fun.

The park is positioned well back from the roads which enhance safety. There is ample shade and grass for picnics, as well as bench seating.

I would definitely recommend this park for younger children. Neither of my boys wanted to come home! There are plenty of options and challenges to keep them happy and properly grubby.

This play space is a great free activity for the school holidays with the park conveniently located for a visit to Subiaco for lunch or shopping as well.
