I have always enjoyed going to a live play - nothing can replace this. This is especially true at the Subiaco Arts Centre, which is not huge and you are therefore quite close when watching a play.

This centre is at 180 Hamersley Road, Subiaco. This is a list of the top plays for the month of June, 2018. It is a good idea to book now.

Each play will have several sessions to choose from and all are part of the Subiaco Theatre Festival

1. THE MAN & THE MOON
This will be on from 6th to 9th June, 2018 and is presented by Subiaco Arts Centre and Variegated Productions.

This is a love story but is it total lunacy or a total eclipse of the heart? A man wakes in his dull apartment in outer-middle suburbia, only to realise he's living a life that has "lost its twinkle".

Variegated Productions is "over the moon" to present this theatrical cabaret show! It tells the tale of astronomical love and self-discovery.

There is a live band channelling smoky New York jazz clubs and it is about a man falling in love with the wrong celestial body.

For tickets phone: 8 6212 9292

2. FIND THE LADY
This will be on from 6th to 9th June 2018 and is presented by the Subiaco Theatre Festival and Matt Penny. You can get tickets at this site.

This play is all about theft, betrayal and ambition, as well as love and life. It is a rags to riches story in which the lead character topples. Fame and fortune can be something that does not last when you trust the wrong people.

The ambitious con-man cannot believe his luck when he stumbles across his ability to read people's minds and he realises too late that as soon you get to the top, people start plotting your downfall.

This play is the winner of the 2018 FRINGE WORLD Blaz Award and was nominated for the 2018 FRINGE WORLD Martin Sims Award.

3. WHEN HE GETS THAT WAY
This play will be on from 13th to 16th May, 2018 and you can get your tickets here.

It is presented by the Subiaco Arts Centre and Lisa Louttit & Taryn Ryan.

It has been described as "Downtown Abbey meets Monty Python".

When He Gets That Way is a light-hearted comedy with a poisonous bite and includes some cute drawing room ditties.

It is mainly about the whims of two romantic, ambitious women as they attempt to outplay each other using wit, charm, songs and their beloved diary entries. It is a battle between a mistress, Lady Annabelle, and her servant, Christiane.

Christiane is a social climbing handmaid who shares secrets and gossip, and it is both wicked and hilarious!

4. INTERRUPTING A CRISIS
This one will be on from 13th to 16th June, 2018, and is presented by Ribs, and you can get your tickets here.

It is the true story of a woman who learned to write songs to work her way through her anxiety.

Georgina didn't understand what was happening to her when she began having emotional lows at an alarming rate. With her thoughts constantly spinning around, it wasn't until she went back to playing an old electric keyboard that she found some relief.

This story is both funny and uplifting and for the millions of Australians who experience anxiety, Interrupting a Crisis is undeniably engaging.

It was nominated for Member's Choice and Judge's Choice at The Blue Room Theatre Awards and is not the story of a crisis but the interruption of one.

5. BUS BOY
This play is one from 20th to 23rd June, 2018 and is hosted by Rorschach Beast, and you can get your tickets here .

Bus Boy believes he's a bus whenever he climbs on his bike! Although he is living on Rottnest Island, he knows all the routes on the mainland.

Jerry is a young woman stuck in "transition" and she returns to Rottnest to get rid of the trauma in her life from the previous year.

She then meets Bus Boy and decides to complete her ritual by giving Bus Boy and herself one perfect night of joy.

This play is all about sharing secrets, car theft and Aussie meat pies. It is a play about a connection set on our famous and iconic Rottnest Island.

It was the winner of the 2017 FRINGE WORLD Theatre Award, Emerging Artist Award (Sean Guastavino), and joint winner of the Martin Sims Award.

Any of these plays will be worth going to see and you can get a better price if you go to more than one - this is called a Subi Saver .
