Although undoubtedly aimed at the more senior members of the community, who could resist a monthly event including a three-course meal, popcorn, and a movie for $13? A lot of people I'm sure, but hey if you've gotten this far, you might as well keep reading.

How do you pay so little you may ask? Well these aren't exactly the latest Hollywood blockbusters. However, considering the modern cinematic trends and overpriced candy bar junk, the is a nice change from the brain numbing comedies and over budgeted CGI fests. So sit back, take a break, take a bite and prepare to relive or discover many of the golden cinema classics.

As for the food, well for the price of $13 including a three-course meal, I was honestly expecting mashed up hospital food along with the dreaded possibility of mystery meat; but don't worry, the meat is easily identifiable. With all seriousness regarding the cuisine, of course one wouldn't dream of expecting a five star meal, but this is far from disappointing. Considering the fine quality and portions of the servings, you may pay up to double for this food just about everywhere else. Plus if you're a vegetarian or have any food allergies, the chef will especially prepare your meal, as long as requested when you call up with your ticket bookings.

In all honesty the Subiaco Community Centre isn't exactly the most ideal venue for a film club; such as the chairs not being the most comfortable and the screen seeming to be placed on a slightly awkward part of the wall. However, when comparing this to the film club's overwhelming positive aspects, it's faults are things that can be easily overlooked.

Up coming screenings include classic titles such as Ben Hur, From Russia With Love, National Velvet, and Rear Window (screening on Halloween, 31/10/2012). Regarding suitability of the features screened at the film club, due to that a majority of the patrons include the elderly, classifications of these motion pictures screened rarely breach G and PG ratings. Thus the is an affordable and a highly fulfilling event, enjoyable for those of just about every age.

8/10
