Want your kids to get creative on the school holidays and do an activity which requires no parent involvement?
It's nice to have a break right? We deserve that every so often. Escaping on a long-awaited
adventure up north is a fantastic way to spend the holiday, but if you
hang around, why not try out the
String Art Co. Workshop in Claremont.

Before the last school holidays in July 2014, I read on Weekend Notes Perth about this nostalgic, old-time art reborn. Without delay we got in early and made a booking, as we knew places would fill fast for any good school holiday activities.
We found the website provided concise information that was easy to follow and the people behind the scenes to be thoroughly organised. Good value @ $55 per child for 3 hours of learning a fun skill for life.

Founder and chief facilitator of the String Art company, Susan Booth, was only too happy to answer any questions I had with regards to parent drop-off and leaving our precious kids behind.
The adult helpers have a 'Working with Children' Check that may be sighted upon arrival. Come in a little early as classes start promptly. It will help your child/ren to feel more comfortable, to have a look at different designs and time for queries before you leave.

To make a booking for the upcoming workshops held in October school holidays from Tuesday 30th September to Friday 3rd October, 2014, at either 9.30am-12.00pm or 1.00pm-3.30pm please go
HERE.
These future classes are run morning and afternoon for approximately 2 ½ hours with a maximum of 16 students permitted to attend each session. There are 3 facilitators present to teach and assist with learning this fun craft.
This ensures everyone is getting the most out of their experience. Having someone on hand to help through the process once they have been taught, while allowing the kids to explore unhindered and as safely as possible.

Age for attendance is a minimum of 7 years old, up to around 14 years old; although they may make exceptions. Cost is $60 per child and includes morning or afternoon tea.
Make sure your child arrives in suitable clothing and closed in shoes. Just in case they get glue on their clothes or drop hammers and nails, as they get to make the timber loom they use for their art from scratch.

In addition to workshops, there are String Art Birthday Parties and kits to purchase.
Birthday
parties are open to boys or girls and make a perfect gift for everyone to take home. No sticky mess or kids 'hyped up' on lollies, unless of course you supply them yourself.
All the hard work is already done by the String Art Company. Parties can be done for other occasions as well.
The String Art kits are a new product available from Sunday, 28th September and will be launched at the
Perth Upmarket. Kits will be on sale via the website thereafter and through the workshops.

To
tie off, our kids had a great time and felt a special achievement was made. Let the magic of String Art
rope you in these school holidays, but don't get too
entwined.
