Roll On In For Some Fun
Grab a group of friends and get stuck into ten pin bowling for some fun competition. Recently six work friends and myself decided to relive our youth with a trip to Strike Bowling at the Macqarie Centre.
From Strike website
Most of us had played during our teenage years at school and for weekend entertainment. Boy times have changed, where were the daggy, smelly shoes and surly attendants? The lanes looked shorter and cleaner and there was loud music and dim lighting. There were music video screens, comfortable seating and an automatic scoring system.
On arrival we checked in and our names were entered into the scoring system by the friendly attendant. Footwear was packed away as we donned the Velcro strapped bowling shoes. Each lane takes up to eight but we opted to play on two adjacent lanes to save on time, as it takes about ten minutes a player for the ten frames.
It was great fun cheering each other on and sledging friends as they prepared to bowl. There was even a chance to bust out a few Shake It Off dance moves. Most of us had lost our skills over the years but the celebrations of strikes and spares were the sweeter and louder for it.
As well as ten bowling lanes Strike offers a cocktail bar, food, pool tables, three karaoke rooms, laser tag and three exitus puzzle game rooms. They cater for functions such as birthday parties, team building events and hens/bucks parties. Bookings can be made online as well as by phone. There are lots of dining options and plenty of parking at the Macquarie Centre.
After such a fun evening we decided to make it a more regular occurrence, but next time we may attempt the Laser Tag or Karaoke.
