Nestled at the back of a building fronted by a kebab shop and a Night Owl you would be forgiven for walking straight past Stretch Yoga and not noticing its existence. Walking up the stairs past the smell of kebabs it can be easy to think that perhaps what awaits you may not quite inspire relaction, however once you open the door the tranquil music, beautiful smell of essential oils and smiling girl on reception makes everything outside melt away.
Stretch Yoga is a newcomer to the Brisbane yoga scene and hits the sweet spot between 'full-on-workout' and ''hippie paradise'. With an amazing plant wall, gorgeous timber floors and upcycled furniture throughout the design alone makes you feel instantly at home.
The teachers are all fantastic and seem to expertly tread the line between focusing on anatomy and alignment and spirituality. They explain new concepts well and make you feel instantly at ease - never assuming that you should know how to do something and always finding you a variation if your body maybe doesn't bend that way.
Compared to other studios in the CBD the prices are incredibly competitive and the 1 week of unlimited yoga for $25 is a brilliant way to check them out.
They have 35 classes across 7 days with times and styles to suit pretty much everyone. The Stretch Foundations is highly recommended for those newer (or brand new) to yoga, and the Deep Stretch is perfect for just blissing out after (or during) a stressful day.
